Open HomeBase on the published site
Visit homebasehero.life in your phone's browser and sign in (or create an account). Reminders are tied to your account, so they follow you to every device you sign in on. Note: notifications cannot be enabled inside the editor preview — use the published site.
Tap the bell and choose Allow
In your dashboard, tap the bell icon in the top-right corner. Your browser will ask for permission — choose Allow. The bell fills in once your device is registered, and you can tap it again any time to turn reminders off.
Add HomeBase to your home screen
On iPhone/iPad this step is required before notifications can be enabled at all. On Android it is optional but recommended: the app opens full-screen and reminders look and behave like a native app's.
Will they show on my lock screen?
Yes. Once enabled, HomeBase reminders arrive as real background push — they appear on your lock screen, in the notification shade, as banners, and in your notification settings even when the app is closed. On iPhone/iPad this only works after you add HomeBase to your home screen and open it from that app icon.
Troubleshooting
I blocked notifications by accident — how do I unblock them?
Chrome / Edge / Firefox: tap the lock or tune icon in the address bar, tap Permissions, set Notifications to Allow, then reload the page. Safari on Mac: Safari → Settings → Websites → Notifications → set homebasehero.life to Allow. Safari on iOS: Settings → Notifications → HomeBase → Allow. Windows may also need Settings → System → Notifications → turn on your browser. Once the permission is reset, tap the bell in HomeBase again.
I don't see 'Add to Home Screen' in the ⋮ menu
On Android the item can be labeled 'Install app', 'Add to Home screen', or 'Add shortcut', and it sometimes sits below the fold — scroll the menu. If it is still missing, reload the page once so the browser can read the app manifest, and confirm you are on the published site (homebasehero.life) in Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or Samsung Internet. Editor previews and in-app browsers such as Instagram or Facebook hide the option.
Do I have to add it to my home screen?
On Android and desktop, no — you can allow notifications straight from the browser and still get lock-screen alerts. On iPhone and iPad, yes: iOS only permits web push from web apps that have been added to the home screen and opened from that icon.
The bell does nothing, or permission never appears
That usually means notifications were blocked earlier. In Chrome, tap the lock/tune icon in the address bar → Permissions → Notifications → Allow, then reload and tap the bell again. On iOS, check Settings → Notifications → HomeBase.
Notifications are not showing on the lock screen
Open your phone's Settings → Notifications (or Settings → Apps → HomeBase/Chrome → Notifications) and make sure notifications are allowed and set to show on the lock screen. Also check Do Not Disturb, Focus modes, and battery saver, which can silence delivery.
When do reminders arrive?
HomeBase runs a daily check and sends reminders once per day in the morning, plus alerts for anything overdue. If nothing is due, you will not receive a notification — that is expected.
